RTD bus routes to experience minor detours Monday during Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Marade

Some Regional Transportation District (RTD) bus routes will experience minor detours on Monday, Jan. 15, due to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. march and parade from City Park to Civic Center Park in Denver.

Called a Marade by organizers, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. march and parade will celebrate its 40th anniversary. The event will begin at City Park (statue of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) and continue west on E. Colfax Avenue to Broadway where a closing ceremony will be held at Civic Center Park.

RTD will operate services according to a regular schedule. However, customers using routes affected by the event can anticipate delays and detours between 10:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., which may affect scheduled bus and rail connections.

Bus routes:

The following bus routes will have a minor detour around the event: 0, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 15L, 16, 19, 20, 24, 48, 52 and 83L (Civic Center Station is closed during this event).
